POOL RECAP:
Last week's winners, HURRICANE IRA and WORK BOOTS, found out quickly in week
3 that things wouldn't go as smoothly on Championship weekend as they seemed
to go last week. LeGarrette Blount and Danny Amendola, who combined for 50
fantasy points last week, put forth ZERO points in Week 3. In the later game, IRA
got only 7 fantasy points total from Gore, Vernon Davis and the SF defense. The
rest of the field passed Ira up and his Playoff Pool run was over. WORK BOOTS got
a TD catch from Boldin, but not the consistent performance his roster had last
week. It wasn't enough to catch SIC-SENSE, who rolled to a Week 3 victory.
Colin Kaepernick threw for a 153 yards and ran for 130 more on Championship
weekend and he added a touchdown pass. Kaepernick, who led the Playoff Pool in
fantasy points last year, is tops for now again this year. Unfortunately, he did turn
the ball over three times on Sunday and that helped end his playoff run. Kaepernick
finishes the post-season with 576 yards passing and 243 yards rushing. He threw
for 3 touchdowns, ran for another and had 3 picks. SIC-SENSE was the top ranked
Kaepernick team going into the weekend. In the playoffs, Sic-Sense got 2
touchdowns from each of their running backs, Donald Brown and Frank Gore. They
have the top wide receiver in the Pool with TY. Hilton (327 yards receiving and 2
TDs) and they also got 203 yards receiving from Michael Crabtree. The kicker,
Adam Vinatieri, contributed with 3 FGs and 8 extra points. The 49ers defense
finishes with 13 sacks and forced 3 turnovers.
Congrats to Bob Otero's crew for the Week 3 win with Sic-Sense.
Otero's crew of five entered 25 teams and tried to cover multiple outcomes. The
strategy pays off in week 3.
