FANTASY PLAYOFF POOL XVI- RECAP

CHAMPION- SNOOP
Well now we have our first 2x Champion.  It is Frank Pugs and Snoop.  Frank also won the 2007 Pool.  Unlike in
recent years, this Fantasy Playoff Pool was highly competitive going into SB48.  Snoop was less than 6 points from
first place entering SB48 with Marshawn Lynch, Andre Caldwell, Zach Miller, Steven Hauschka and the Seattle
defense all going in the Super Bowl.
It took less than 5 minutes into SB48 for Snoop to grab hold of the lead.  Snoop would never relinquish it.  Snoop got
a Safety from the defense and then a Hauschka FG at 10:25 in the first quarter for the lead.  Before the first half of
SB48 was over, Snoop would get a Marshawn Lynch touchdown, a defensive touchdown and another Hauschka FG.
Snoop's lead had grown to 23 points.  Marshawn Lynch became the first RB to win Pool MVP since 2002.  Lynch had
288 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns in the post-season.  Steven Hauschka became the first kicker since 2009 to be
in the Pool's top 10 scorers.  In SB48, the Seattle defense finally had a performance translate into fantasy points as it
forced 4 takeaways, scored a touchdown and a safety.  While Snoop went heavy with Seattle, he also had a set of
triplets from Indy.    Quarterback Andrew Luck ended his post-season after 2 weeks with 774 yards passing with 6 TD
passes and 7 interceptions.  T.Y. Hilton finished the playoffs with 327 receiving yards and 2 TDs.  Donald Brown had
168 yards from scrimmage and 2 scores.  The three Colts combined for 131 fantasy points in two playoffs games.
Snoop utilized $44 worth of cap space for the Seahawks & Colts.  Snoop utilized two $3 wide receivers for his other
two roster spots.

SECOND PLACE- BOLTZNY11
BOLTZNY finished 9 fantasy points short of a Championship.  BOLTZNY maxed on Seattle with the Defense and MVP
Lynch.  BOLTZNY did not get much production from his other two Hawks as TE Miller and WR Golden Tate combined
for only 12 fantasy points. Gomez' choice of $6 Seattle WR Tate over $6 Doug Baldwin cost him the title.  But his
other two wide receivers were awesome.  Demaryius Thomas, the Pool's top scoring WR finished with 28 catches for
306 yards and 3 scores. Thomas had a record 13 catches in SB48.  WR LaVon Brazil ($3) got 127 receiving yards
and 2 TDs.   At Quarter Back, Gomez had Andrew Luck, who outscored both of the QBs playing in the Super Bowl,
despite playing in only two games.
BOLTZNY made the move into second position on the pick-six by Super Bowl MVP Malcolm Smith which occurred with
3:36 remaining in the first half of SB48.

THIRD PLACE….BOB DATENO
Doug Baldwin's fourth quarter TD with 11:55 remaining got Dateno into third place initially.  Dateno then later
dropped back into fourth place, but when the Seahawks defense created its fourth turnover with 3:52 remaining in the
game, Dateno leaped back into third place for good.  It was a strip-sack-fumble by Chris Clemons that yielded the 3
points for the Hawks' defense.
Dateno had QB Luck, RB Lynch, WR Hilton and the Seahawks defense; all key-contributors in-common with the
Pool Champions.  Dateno's other player was Baldwin, who recorded a SB touchdown after having a 100-yard game
on Championship weekend.  Baldwin finished the playoffs with 13 catches for 202 yards and the score.

FOURTH PLACE….FISCOLARE
For the first time since 2002, prizes went beyond the Top 3 finishers.  Fiscolare finished one point behind Dateno
for fourth place.  Fiscolare had some different contributors from the top three teams.  Fiscolare was the top team
without Andrew Luck and while the top three teams all got significant production from Indy players, Fiscolare did not
get any fantasy points from any Colts' players.
Like the Champions, Fiscolare had MVP Lynch, Hauschka and the Seahawks defense.  Fiscolare's QB was
Russell Wilson.  Despite making it to the Super Bowl, Wilson had only put up 14 total fantasy points entering SB48.
Wilson added 16 points to that Sunday as he threw for 206 yards and 2 touchdowns.  He also ran for 26 yards.
Fisclolare's other 2 big contributors were from New England.  RB LeGarrette Blount finished as the 2nd best RB with
all his fantasy points coming in week two.  Blount rumbled for 166 yards and 4 touchdowns that week.  With Lynch
and Blount, Fiscolare had the Pool's top 2 Running Backs. Patriots' WR Julian Edelman had 16 receptions for 173
yards and a TD.

FIFTH PLACE….BOLTZNY13
BOLTZNY13 was the top finisher without the Seattle defense and it was Seattle's 4th takeaway in SB48 that
bounced BOLTZNY13 from third place to fifth.  BOLTZNY13 was also the top finisher with multiple Denver roster
spots.
BOLTZNY13 had Wilson at QB and like his second place winning entry, his roster had MVP Lynch, WRs
Demaryius Thomas and $3 sleeper WR LaVon Brazil.  Gomez got 24 points from his kicker Prater, but none in SB48.
Prater's best opportunity was at the end of the first half of SB48, but Denver passed on the attempt.   BOLTZNY
finished 1.5 points out of the top 3.

              SIXTH PLACE [TOP 1%]….SNOOP 6
Champion Frank Pugs has a second entry taking home $ in 2014.  'Snoop 6'  was the top team without
Marshawn Lynch.  The top RB on this team was Knowshon Moreno, who finishes the post-season with 212
scrimmage yards and a TD.  This is third entry from the top with the WR combo of Demaryius Thomas and LaVon
Brazil.  Add in Jermaine Kearse, 7 receptions for 134 yards and 2 TDs, and each of the 3 WRs had at least 25
fantasy points.
It was Russell Wilson's 2nd TD pass which put 'SNOOP 6' into the Top 1%.  'Snoop 6' had disappointing SB
performances from Moreno (4 points) and Prater.

              7TH PLACE [TOP 1%]….SIC SENSE
Only 6 entries were able to pass up SIC SENSE who won Week 3 and had nobody left playing.  SIC SENSE  is
the top finisher with multiple 49ers on the roster.  Niners' QB Colin Kaepernick is the first QB to lead the position in
fantasy points in consecutive years.
Colin Kaepernick threw for a 153 yards and ran for 130 on Championship weekend and he added a touchdown
pass.  Unfortunately, he did turn the ball over three times and that helped end his playoff run.  Kaepernick finishes
the post-season with 576 yards passing and 243 yards rushing.  He threw for 3 touchdowns, ran for another and had
3 picks.
In the playoffs, Sic-Sense got 2 touchdowns from each of their running backs, Donald Brown and Frank Gore.  They
have TY. Hilton (327 yards receiving and 2 TDs) and they also got 203 yards receiving from Michael Crabtree.  The
kicker, Adam Vinatieri, contributed with 3 FGs and 8 extra points.  The 49ers defense finishes with 13 sacks and
forced 3 turnovers.
Congrats to Bob Otero's crew for the Week 3 win with Sic-Sense.
