FANTASY PLAYOFF POOL XV- RECAP

CHAMPION- RUSSO

Once again there wasn’t much drama for the Pool Championship for SB Sunday.  Ron Russo took a 29+ point
lead into the SB47 with 7 positions still active.  Russo extended the victory margin to win by a record 38.3 fantasy
points.  It is the third straight year that more than 20 fantasy points separated the top two teams in the pool.

In Fantasy Playoff Pool XV, Russo's team was carried by Pool MVP Joe Flacco who had a flawless post-season
and led the Ravens through four playoff games.  Flacco threw for 1,140 yards and 11 touchdowns without an
interception.  Russo had the two top Wide Receivers: Anquan Boldin, 380 receiving yards, and Michael Crabtree,
275 receiving yards.  Both Boldin and Crabtree scored 4 touchdowns.  Russo's third WR, Brandon Stokley also
scored a touchdown in his lone playoff game.  Russo's running backs, Frank Gore and Ray Rice,  combined for
over 750 yards from scrimmage and six touchdowns.  Gore was the top RB in the Playoff Pool.

Russo used basically a combo Ravens-49ers team. The two teams that ended up competing in the Super Bowl.
Russo had each team's top RB and WR.  Russo had the Ravens' QB and the 49ers tight end, Vernon Davis, who
logged 12 catches for 254 yards and a TD.  Davis was the second best tight end in the pool.  Russo completed
the combo with the Ravens defense.  Baltimore had the pool's best defense forcing 10 turnovers, 9 sacks and a
touchdown.

SECOND PLACE- B&V (Seth Freidman & Matt Tohl)
Second time runner-up for  Friedman.  B&V was also a Ravens-Niners combo team, except with the Niners' QB
and defense.  Niners’ QB Colin Kaepernick threw for 798 yards, 4 touchdowns and 2 picks.  In only three games,
Kaepernick actually outscored Pool MVP Flacco.  That's because of Kaepernick's added prowess as a runner.
Colin racked up 264 yards and 3 scores on the ground.

B&V had four players in common with Russo: Rice, Crabtree, Boldin and Vernon Davis.  B&V had Michael Turner
at Running Back.  Turner had 128 yards in two games and did not find the end zone.  At wide receiver, B&V had
Torrey Smith go for 11 catches, 233 yards and 2 touchdowns.  Smith's big game was in the Division Round when
he scored both TDs and has his most yards (98).

THIRD PLACE…. Fiorino
Fiorino was over 16 points back from second place and 55 points out of first place.  Fiorino's team was made
up of players from all four NFL teams in the Conference finals.  Fiorino had Pool MVP Joe Flacco at QB.  He had
the Pool's top Running Back, Frank Gore, 319 yards rushing and 4 touchdowns, and his top WR was the only
player on each of the top three teams, Michael Crabtree.

Fiorino had four players that weren't on the top two teams.  $4 wide receiver, Jacoby Jones, is an all-or-
nothing guy.  Jones had only 5 catches in 4 games, but 2 of them were touchdowns of 50+ yards and he also
returned a kickoff for a TD in the Super Bowl.  Jones finished tied for 4th in scoring amongst wide receivers.
Fiorino also had WR Roddy White (12-176, TD), TE Aaron Hernandez (15-168) and kicker Matt Bryant.
Fiorino would have been a major threat to win the FPP Championship had Atlanta defeated San Francisco in the
NFC Championship.

Former champions Emilio Pescatore and Danny Pic rounded out the Top 5.  It was Danny's third time in the
Top 5.
