FANTASY PLAYOFF POOL 14- RECAP

      CHAMPION- SGC

With a 33-point lead and 3 players still active, including QB Eli Manning, Callahan's SGC team, entered
SB46 with little doubt it would hold on for the Championship.  Eli Manning threw for 296 yards and a TD.
Wide Receiver Hakeem Nicks had 10 catches for 109 yards and captured the Pool's MVP.  SGC's tight end,
Rob Gronkowski, suffering from a high-ankle sprain, managed 26 yards on 2 catches.  Callahan watched
his lead slowly shrink throughout the Super Bowl, but had plenty of cushion and won by 21.5 fantasy points.
In Fantasy Playoff Pool 14, SGC had the top scoring player at QB, RB and WR.  QB Eli Manning threw for
1,296 yards and 9 TDs with 1 pick.  Manning wins the Pool for the second time.  RB  Arian Foster had 285
yards rushing and 3 TDs in 2 games.  WR Hakeem Nicks had 28 catches for 444 yards and 4 TDs.
SGC had two of its receivers win their second Pool Championship; Anquan Boldin, 174 yards receiving and
a TD, and Devery Henderson, 113 yards receiving and a TD.  Boldin is only the second player to win the
Pool with two different NFL teams.  Devery Henderson was also the most overall selected player in the
Pool.
SGC did have to battle some injuries.  Stud tight end Rob Gronkowski suffered a high-ankle sprain in
Championship week, but Gronk had three touchdowns in the division round and was a big part of SGC's
ascent to the Pool lead after two weeks.  It was a lead which they would never relinquish.  SGC was less
than a fantasy point away from also winning the Division Round.    It was an injury that cost SGC as RB
Pierre Thomas was knocked out in the 1st quarter of his game with a concussion.  He also fumbled on the
play and finished with a negative fantasy point total for the week.  Thomas did contribute in the Wild Card
round with 121 yards from scrimmage with a TD.

SECOND PLACE- UNCLE JACK (Pat Malone)
A Tom Brady led team sneaks into second place.  Brady threw for 6 TD passes in the division round against
Denver.  He finished the playoffs with 878 yards passing, 8 TD passes, 4 picks and 1 rushing TD.
Tom Brady closed the first half of SB46 and opened the second half with drives culminating in TD passes.
Both of Brady's TD passes went to players on UNCLE JACK’s roster.  The first went to Danny Woodhead.
Woodhead had only 2 fantasy points coming into the game.  The second went to Aaron Hernandez.  That
one propelled UNCLE JACK into second place.  UNCLE JACK never relinquished its hold on second place.
UNCLE JACK had only one player in common with the SGC, and that was Pool MVP Hakeem Nicks.  Nicks
was actually a last minute roster replacement for an injured Lance Moore.  The other receivers were
Robert Meachem, 129 yards and a TD, and Jerricho Cotchery, who caught only one pass, but made it
count.  It was a 31-yard touchdown.
UNCLE JACK had two other main contributors.  In 2 games, running back Darren Sproles caught 19 passes
for 153 yards and scored 3 touchdowns.  Tight End Aaron Hernandez had 19 catches for 188 yards and 2
scores.  Hernandez was also used out of the backfield and led UNCLE JACK's team in rushing with 70 yards
on the ground.

THIRD PLACE….105 CRESCENT  (Matt Ringen)
105 Crescent had the dynamic duo of Eli Manning and Hakeem Nicks. ).  It was Hakeem Nicks’ 9th
catch in SB46 with 2:09 remaining that put Ringen in third place for good.   105 Crescent also got 3
touchdowns apiece from a pair of Saints; Darren Sproles and tight end Jimmy Graham.  They got a TD
apiece from Devery Henderson (WR) and Brandon Jacobs (RB
