Cam Newton was super-human and propelled Gary Bach’s Gamblers
Anonymous team to the lead in the Pool and the Week 3 prize money.
Newton threw for 335 yards and two touchdowns while running for 47 yards
and two scores. Newton is currently the Pool’s leading point scorer.
Bach’s running backs, rookie David Johnson (15-60) and C.J. Anderson (16-
72), each got 15+ carries for the second straight week. Johnson added 9
catches for 68 yards and found the end zone. Anderson found the end zone
last week.
Bach did not have any receivers active for the week, but on his roster is
Martavius Bryant, who was the Pool’s top scorer over the first two weeks
with 14 catches for 183 yards and a TD. Bryant also had 84 yards rushing.
Bach’s two $4 receivers both came through with scores; Davante Adams in
week 1 and Albert Wilson in week 2.
Gamblers Anonymous’ kicker Brandon McManus has 7 Field Goals,
including two from 50+ yards. The Green Bay defense contributed as well for
Gamblers Anonymous with 9 sacks and 2 interceptions in the two opening
weeks.
While ‘stacking’ players from the same team is a common strategy in the
Playoff Pool. Gamblers Anonymous had the 7 skill positions filled with
players from 7 different NFL teams.
We all have our stories of woe in Fantasy Football and here is one for Joe
Tulloch, whose Trippy Turtles lost week 3 by less than two fantasy points.
Ron Rivera’s decision to go for a two-point conversion up 40-15 with 5:31
remaining was a 3-point swing against the Turtles. Gamblers Anonymous got
the 2-points from Cam’s 2-point pass instead of the Turtles getting a point
from Graham Gano.
